Umi blends old-world woodworking with modern technique to create something that feels alive. Solid walnut doors were individually hand-gouged and then painstakingly sanded smooth by hand. The finished surface evokes the sensation of skimming across open water, with a visual rhythm that shifts as the light moves across it.
